  1. Well I assure you that a lot of people have transmission problems with Mitsubishi Cars especially eclipses. Your not the only one who suffers like this. Everyday people suffers from broke down transmission and had to give up there car because it costs too much or it takes majorly long time to fix. Theres been reports about almost every problem of a Mitsubishi car from exterior painting to the engine to the transmission. Even if you do send a letter, they will still continue to produce the cars that they engineered, meaning they really don't care. Also, that shop you took it to probably are inexperienced and they are probably having a hard time on it. I would check somewhere else that has the experience. I have already seen a 2009 Lancer transmission broke down already and its a brand new car with only 5000 miles on it. But it had a warranty that the dealer replaced it for free.
  2. I have not seen that many problems with Mitsubishi transmissions. The dealer should have diagnosed your concerns and repaired any problems. I have seen sensors fail on some of the automatic transmissions. The auto transmissions will go into a fail safe mode which keeps the vehicle in 3rd gear when any of the sensors fail. If unhappy with a dealership, the district service rep. comes around once a month and should be your next step in contacting management in the Mitsubishi service department. They will take care of any problems. I am not familiar with "Amcar". It does not sound like an authorized Mitsubishi dealer. You trying to have your Montero Sport serviced at an after market facility? That's a mistake!
  3. Like Mitsubishi Master Tech said and don't forget to use only the original Mitsubishi transmission fluid. The only one approved to be used in the Mitsubishi transmission .
